In the past, the year immediately following an election would be regarded as an “off-year” for politics.

But the Trump years–and the threats to democracy that it spawned, up to and including the January 6, 2021 Insurrection–proved there’s no such thing anymore.

This is not an off-year. It’s a less intense year. Stay active, for the sake of democracy.
